SiOO:X Wood Protection — the original silicate wood protection since 1994

Environmental Product Declarations for the SiOO:X system

The original silicate wood protection since 1994. Our EPDs are third-party verified per EN 15804+A2 and provide complete LCA data for BREEAM, LEED, DGNB and Nordic Swan certification.

EN 15804+A2

European standard for construction product environmental declarations.

ISO 14025

International standard for Type III environmental declarations.

Valid until 2030

Updated according to the programme operator's review cycle.

Wood Protection

The base treatment that mineralises wood fibres with silicate and potassium. EPDs cover both unpigmented and pigmented versions.

EPD – Wood Protection (unpigmented)

EN 15804+A2 / ISO 14025

Third-party verified environmental declaration for unpigmented Wood Protection.

EPD – Wood Protection (pigmented)

Third-party verified environmental declaration for pigmented Wood Protection.

Surface Protection

The top coat that builds the water-repellent mineral barrier and locks in protection.

EPD – Surface Protection (unpigmented)

Third-party verified environmental declaration for unpigmented Surface Protection.

EPD – Surface Protection (pigmented)

Third-party verified environmental declaration for pigmented Surface Protection.

Specialty products

End-grain protection that shields exposed surfaces from moisture uptake and extends lifespan.

EPD – End Grain Sealer Step 1 & 2

Third-party verified environmental declaration for End Grain Sealer (step 1 and 2).

EPD – Pre-Wash

Third-party verified environmental declaration for Pre-Wash wood cleaner.

EPD – Re-Wash

Third-party verified environmental declaration for Re-Wash maintenance cleaner.

What is an EPD and why does it matter?

An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a standardised, third-party verified document describing a construction product's environmental impact over its entire life cycle – from raw material to end-of-life. It follows the European standard EN 15804+A2 and the international ISO 14025.

EPDs are mandatory or strongly recommended in modern building certification schemes such as BREEAM, LEED, DGNB and the Nordic Swan. SiOO:X publishes EPDs for the entire product system so that architects, engineers and developers can document climate impact at the material level.

What is covered in our EPDs?

  • Global Warming Potential (GWP) in kg CO₂ equivalents per functional unit
  • Acidification, eutrophication and ozone depletion potential
  • Resource use (renewable/non-renewable energy, water)
  • Waste streams and output flows
  • Module-based reporting A1–A5, B1–B7, C1–C4, D
